IAM RoadSmart chief executive officer, Tony Greenidge, has taken the decision to step down after four years with the charity.

Greenidge joined the road safety charity as business development director and took over as CEO 18 months ago. He will remain in his position until the end of March 2022.

Greenidge said: “We have delivered excellent financial results during the 18-month pandemic period to date and as we embark on an exciting phase in our history underpinned by a new five-year strategic plan, this is a key time for IAM RoadSmart.

“After much contemplation, I feel it is important that the CEO who takes our charity forward into a new phase of change and strategic growth, remains in place to see it through to completion.

“I will work closely with Trustees to prepare the path for the next CEO."

He said the chariy's investment in technology, infrastructure, and product development will ensure its strategic plan has the necessary tools and resources in place to support the driver training, education and compliance needs of businesses, the traditional company car and grey fleet drivers.

Greenidge added: “The recruitment that has taken place over the last 12 months means that the new CEO inherits a highly skilled team, and I will watch with interest as IAM RoadSmart goes from strength to strength.”

Stuart Donald, chairman of IAM RoadSmart, said: “Tony has achieved a lot in the last four years, and we respect his decision to step down.

“It is a pivotal time for IAM RoadSmart as we progress and adapt for future challenges, so I am pleased that Tony will continue to lead the charity for the next five months to help with a smooth transition.”
