Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles has announced a new off-the-shelf conversions programme called Engineered To Go.

It will initially supply Dropside, Tipper and Luton versions of the new Crafter, available to buy directly from the price list.

The revamped scheme will eventually include the Caddy and Transporter, with numerous derivatives including fridge/freezer conversions, minibuses and a service workshop.

Ingimex will produce the first raft of Engineered To Go Crafter products. The Dropside, available as a single and double cab, is modified ready for the addition of fall arrest rails or tail lifts with prices starting from £31,470 (ex VAT).

The Tipper, also in single and double cab form, starts from £33,310 (ex VAT). The single cab Luton, from £36,220 (ex VAT), has a unique four-tier load restraint system for deck lashing, standard load lock lashing or for use with optional Ingimex telescopic load pole.

Nick Axtell, specialist sales manager at Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles, said: “We are delighted to be able to announce the details of the new Engineered To Go programme which extends the number of conversions on offer to our customers.

“Having these van solutions available as off-the-shelf products ensures we are able to respond to the demands of businesses quickly and efficiently as part of our Working With You promise. Beyond our Engineered To Go programme there is still the option to customise a van even further to suit the needs of your business with specialist and bespoke conversions.”

The Engineered To Go programme is available through Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles’ dedicated network of Van Centres.
