Mercedes-Benz Vans UK has enhanced the Sprinter by adding stop-start as standard from June production.

The Sprinter is already WLTP compliant, and has been since it launched in the UK in 2018.

Steve Bridge, managing director of Mercedes-Benz Vans UK, said: “We have taken the opportunity that WLTP emissions testing gives us to further benefit customers by adding in the fuel-efficient stop-start technology across the Sprinter range.”

Bridge says he is aware of the often “confusing message” given by manufacturers as to product availability of WLTP compliant vehicles, so with this in mind he wanted to make it easier for people to choose Mercedes-Benz.

“We are actively engaged in the introduction of WLTP as our customers will benefit from a more realistic, comparative benchmark for consumption and emission figures,” he said.

“By taking this opportunity to add stop-start technology to our Sprinter range, we once again put ourselves in the most supportive position to help keep our customers’ businesses moving.”

Mercedes-Benz Vans offers a range of cargo and people-carrying vehicles, from the small-sized Citan, the mid-sized Vito, the Sprinter large van and the X-Class pickup, as well as helping businesses of all shapes and sizes go electric with the eVito and eSprinter.
