Review

WHILE I consider myself lucky to be driving our long-term Lexus IS300, I have to agree with colleague Trevor Gelken who, in a previous report, claimed he 'didn't get' the SportCross at all.

Although it is a lovely car to drive, our Trev quite rightly highlighted the fact the car is neither a true sporty model nor a proper estate. In fact, it does seem to have a bit of an identity crisis.

Personally, it reminds me of an MPV, but obviously one a few grand more expensive. Having said that, the car does attract many favourable comments.

I like the interior a lot but I do have a problem with its satellite navigation system, which costs a whopping £2,340 as an option.

The problem? I can't get it to work. Now, having used and praised satellite navigation systems on many previous occasions, including in other Lexus models, I consider myself au fait with such technology.

But while lost in London recently I simply couldn't find the right button to start the navigation after I'd inputted my required destination.

I won't give up though and I'll keep you posted as to whether I succeed.
