Review
Sarah Tooze, senior features writer, Fleet News said: Electric vehicles are said to be ideal for the average commute so I put the i-Miev to the test on my 26-mile journey to and from the Fleet News office.
My commute takes in urban driving – happy hunting ground for an EV – as well as the not so eco-friendly A1.
After one leg of the journey the i-Miev’s range dropped from 68 miles (fully charged) to 48 miles. That meant a journey that was 13 miles actually zapped 20 miles. But I wasn’t in the most economical of the three modes on offer (D, B and C) and driving on the A1 meant I had to do between 60 and 70mph to avoid causing a traffic jam.
After the second journey, 34 miles were left on the gauge and the remaining battery charge was just over the halfway point. So the range wasn’t as impressive as you might hope, but it was more than enough for the commute.
