##Zafira--left##VAUXHALL is justifiably proud of its new all-alloy 2.2 litre petrol engine - first seen in the electrifying VX220 sports car. In fact, the car-maker is so pleased with it, it seems to be rolling it out to its entire range. After the Omega, Vectra and Astra Coupe, the Zafira - Vauxhall's clever contender in the burgeoning mini-MPV sector - is the latest recipient.

The innovative FLEX7 seating system combines with the Zafira's other principal advantage - excellent driving dynamics - and with this cracking engine Vauxhall has an MPV for people who don't like people carriers. In Comfort 2.2 form as tested here, the Zafira costs £16,245 on the road.
