Carlisle-based facility management provider Orian Solutions has switched from outright purchase to leasing with Lex Autolease.

The firm, which provides catering, cleaning and facilities management services to schools, public buildings and local businesses across the North, has equipped its teams with 17 new vehicles, including 12 Peugeot Bipper vans, on three-year contract hire agreements.

Orian Solutions said the switch to leasing would fuel plans to grow its private sector client-base in Cumbria and the North East while reducing the costs of maintaining and servicing its vans.

Alistair Irvine, director at Orian Solutions, said: “As an ambitious company looking to expand our business across several regions, first impressions matter, and by providing our staff with brand new vans and appropriate signage we can deliver the right customer perception while ensuring we’re operating as leanly as possible.

“Leasing is not something we previously considered, but it has allowed us to cut our overheads and improve cash flow for future investments, together with reducing our carbon emissions to align with our environmentally-friendly ethos.”

Robert Matthews, relationship manager at Lex Autolease, said: “The move makes both financial and business sense for the firm, providing the platform they need to drive planned growth. By turning to leasing, Orian Solutions can supply its teams with new, fit for purpose vans to deliver the right impression without having to worry about the vehicles depreciating on the company balance sheet.”
