Fleet management and funding company Total Motion is to offer Jaama software to its customers.

Total Motion will incorporate Jaama’s Key2 software into its fleet management division. The software not only allows fleet owners to track the usage of their vehicles but also allows them to ensure the vehicles are safe and maintained.

Simon Hill, managing director of Total Motion, said: “Technology is essential for the fleet industry and those who operate in it. Managing risk, maintaining vehicles and ensuring that drivers are completely compliant when it comes to health and safety is a challenge that constantly faces fleet managers and Jaama’s software has allowed us to ensure our clients are aware of the safety risks fleet management can pose.”

The Vehicle Management module covers tyre management, maintenance scheduling and other areas of operating a fleet. The software also includes a Driver Risk Management module, which examines driver profiles such as age, wear patterns, accidents, fines and medical conditions to produce an individual risk score for the customer.

Jaama has devised Key2 to be fast and simple to use.

Hill added: “We at Total Motion have, in the past, developed our own software solutions in order to allow our clients to manage risk, improve communication and generate reports across various fleet-related activities. One such example is our Actual Whole Life Cost system.”

This process, also known as AWLC, measures and tracks the whole life costs of a fleet, which is the overall cost of a fleet vehicle over its full life cycle. Whole life Costs are essential for fleet managers to work out the true cost of running a fleet, and Total Motion’s AWLC system has been proven to be the most accurate system in Europe and has saved clients more than £190m over the last ten years.

Total Motion created the system with a client 1998 to help them choose which vehicles to purchase and their true cost against what the manufacturers predicted. It helps fleet managers to manage mileage, and gives benchmarks for drivers and specific vehicles within a single business or across all of Total Motion’s clients. The system also contains data on maintenance, fuel, accidents, and telematics.
