Alphabet has added more than 250 vehicles to its Alpharent+ extended rental fleet.

The new vehicles include the Infiniti Q50, the VW CC, the current European Car of the Year VW Passat and the 2014 Car of the Year Peugeot 308.

This is in addition to the existing fleet of nearly 900 AlphaRent+ vehicles, which has more than doubled in size since this time last year due to increased customer demand.

Operated from 8 logistics sites across the UK, AlphaRent+ offers nationwide access to all types of vehicle group including car-derived vans, electric vehicles and 4x4s.

The rental fleet is fully owned and managed by Alphabet, meaning that customers and their drivers benefit from greater choice of vehicles equipped for business, can be more specific about their requirements of make and model, have increased flexibility with extended length of booking periods, as well as wasting less time swapping in and out of daily rental vehicles.

Kit Wisdom, head of corporate mobility at Alphabet, said: “The pre-Christmas and New Year get away is one of the busiest times of the year for customers with short to medium term vehicle requirements. Added to this you have the demand for vehicles for new employees starting in January and customers awaiting vehicle deliveries in the new year.

“Often at this time people need a vehicle for a longer time period than would be suitable for a daily rental solution as they may be making the most of the festive season visiting friends and family or taking an extended break. This is why we have increased our AlphaRent+ fleet significantly over recent weeks in line with the general growth trend this year.

“This year we’ve seen customers in the Corporate, SME and Public Sector really appreciate the flexible, cost effective mid-term mobility that AlphaRent+ offers. While their drivers appreciate a more hassle-free experience, greater choice, more guaranteed make and model as well as better specification of vehicle for business needs.”
