Alphabet has announced two key appointments to further strengthen its senior operations team.

Nick Butler has been appointed head of corporate mobility. Butler joined Alphabet’s commercial team in 2003 and has spent the last five years heading up the intermediary and wholesale funding division.

He said: “I’m thrilled to be joining the corporate mobility team. I look forward to managing the team as we continue to provide our customers with innovative business travel solutions. Our unique AlphaRent+ offering also continues to gain momentum as our Customers reap the benefits of a rental fleet that is fully owned by Alphabet."

Kit Wisdom, Butler's predecessor will take up the role of head of technical services after Alphabet bid farewell to Martyn Gallop after 30 years in the industry.

Wisdom has worked at Alphabet for four years embracing a number of significant roles throughout the business.

The new appointments are part of the business’s continued efforts to build on and enhance Alphabet’s operational service.

Wisdom added: “I’m excited to take the reins of all in-life vehicle operations for our portfolio in the UK. Alphabet’s fleet is larger and more complex than ever in terms of the vehicle mix of hybrids, pure electrics, alternative fuels and highly bespoke commercial vehicles. It’s an exciting time to be involved in this area, particularly with new technical opportunities opening up from developments in powertrain technology and highly connected vehicles.

"As a business we are driving the mobility agenda in the UK by providing our customers with innovative, real world solutions to keep modern businesses moving. I’m looking forward to delivering continued operational solutions that solve the mobility needs of our customers.”

Matt Sutherland, chief operating officer at Alphabet concluded: “Kit and Nick are valuable and well respected members of our Alphabet management team. Their impressive knowledge and wealth of experience in the industry means that they understand the challenges faced by our customers. Their new roles are fundamental in driving Alphabet forward as the UK’s leading provider of Business Mobility solutions as they further strengthen our Operations team.”
