About The Role
EKFB's Operational Support and Logistics Team are looking for a number of Assistant Logistics Managers to be based from Brackley, Aylesbury, Chipping Warden and Small Dean.
Operational Support’s role is to deliver scalable and holistic logistics, security and support functions to enable construction across Areas C2 and C3 of the construction of HS2. You will play a pivotal role in supporting the logistic operation within your assigned area. You will carry out a wide variety of tasks related to planning, managing, supervising, and coordinating Operational Support activities.
You will employ a collaborative approach within EKFB and with Client, Early Works, Main Works and Rail Systems Contractors, in order to deliver the best value solutions.
As part of HS2s commitment to up skilling logistics professionals, you will either hold or work towards an appropriate nationally recognised standard endorsed by the Chartered Institute for Logistics and Transport, the Institution of Civil Engineers or other relevant professional body.
You’ll be required to ensure that the Operational Support Strategy is adhered to and provide guidance on all areas. Occasionally You’ll need to deputise for Managers within the Logistics Team. Taking a lead on Operational Support stakeholder engagement with the Main Works Contractor in Area N1 is essential.
Providing guidance and management where delegated, on all matters relating to logistics including; Materials and equipment expediting, delivery, receipt, storage, management, tracking and issue to site; Site infrastructure operation and management, including any off-site logistics consolidation centres; Vehicle movement management, including control to and from site; vehicle fleet operations, maintenance and management; Traffic management, including any interface or temporary works on the public highway; Operational Support Logistics, including accommodation, welfare, refuelling and catering and Waste management
Assist in developing integrated logistics plans and submissions (including Construction Logistic Plans and their revisions) in accordance with the Works Information and all other information provided by the Client and other stakeholders. You’ll also need to assist in the development of effective logistics solutions to provide safe, robust and resilient support to construction activities.
We’d like you to be involved in the recruitment process for Operational Support as well as collaborate with Subcontractors and other stakeholders to develop the most efficient, effective and sympathetic logistics solutions to support the scheme.
You’ll be required to provide the conduit for all logistics related data, using smartTOOLS to manage logistics monitoring and analysis, providing innovative insight and solutions. You’re also responsible for ensuring the business complies with regulations and update policies and processes when required and maintain records, proving that the vehicle fleet is compliant with regulations.
About The Candidate
Key Skills and Qualifications:
Proven Management skills with the ability to optimise team performance and development
Experience working in a logistics environment
Full Driving License
Experience in the Construction industry (highly desirable)
Hold a level 3 or above qualification in a construction or logistics related subject (highly desirable)
