Deputy Transport Manager

Cheshunt

Contract - 40 hours per week

Our client is a growing food wholesaler, a business they are very proud of. They have an exciting new opportunity to join their every growing business at this time of development and restructuring of the Transport Team in Cheshunt.

You will be responsible for ensuring that their fleet and transport department remains fully legal and compliant in accordance with current legislation. With efficient planning, minimise the fleet downtime to ensure SLA are met.

In this vital role, you will have full responsibility for the business fleet – ensuring they are insured and safe as well as maintained. You will need to provide monthly reports of analysis of vehicle spend and fuel consumption to Operations Manager and Finance Director.

You will also be required to conduct investigations into road accidents and fines, as necessary and contest, as appropriate.

You will be working closely with the Transport Manager to ensure optimum utilisation of the operational fleet and deputise in their absence.

To be considered for the role, you will need:

CPC licence
Experience managing a fleet, essential
Vehicle mechanical experience, desirable
Ability to manage a number of deadlines concurrently
Attention to detail, essential
Excellent computer skills
Excellent, professional communication skills
Exceptional organisational and prioritisation skills
