Job Summary:
Dealing with all external and internal customer requests for International and UK trade in a professional and timely manner.
The role will involve all aspects of managing an export and logistics team, arrangement of shipments by liaising with carriers and forwarders, creation of shipping documentation and general enquiries via email and telephone. The role also requires a high level of flexibility in order to meet the changing needs to the business.
General duties to include:
* Providing a first-class customer and sales support service to all customers at all times
* Manage and develop the export and logistics team; setting individual objectives, monitoring performance and conducting regular team meetings
* Ensuring each situation is dealt with through to resolution efficiently, professionally and in a timely manner
* Accountable for the completion of all export documentation and legal compliance
* Liaison with warehouse re dispatching of goods
* Compliance with international shipping, documentation and compliance regulations
* Dealing with international customers from different cultures
Key Skills and Experience:
* 3+ years Logistics/Customs/Shipping experience
* Up to date working knowledge on current logistics and export legislation is essential
* Working knowledge of Commercial Invoices, VAT, Incoterms and general customs delivery paperwork
* Comfortable getting hands on and managing heavy paperwork
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Strong organisational skills with the ability to multi-task
* First class customer service skills
* Excellent organisational skills and the ability to handle heavy work loads
* The ability to react to changing situations, i.e. problems that arise outside standard processes
