Experienced Transport Manager required for an established East Midlands based company with a £multi million turnover who supply a range of products to construction products to a wide range of customers and locations. They operate a fleet of approximately 50 commercial vehicles ranging from small pickup trucks to arctics. In addition they run their own company cars and fork lift trucks, taking the total to approximately 200 in the fleet, spread out throughout their various branches, and they have their own garage and Mechanics to ensure all vehicles are in good working order.

Having grown the business, there is now a need for a dedicated Transport Manager to manage this function, which will include:

Ensuring the fleet is maintained and fit for purpose (servicing, repairs etc)
Adhering to O Licence, regulations and standards
Keeping systems and processes (including using Telematics, Bridge software) and looking to improve costs and efficiencies
Line management responsibility for Transport Administrator and the Garage Mechanics
Liaising with the Transport team to ensure vehicle maintenance is in line with the needs of the business
Occasional visits to group sites and businesses.
Liaising with Insurance companies
Whilst you will be responsible for a budget for maintenance and repairs, you will be making recommendations to the Board for capital purchases
Holding budget for maintenance/repairs etc.
This is a hands-on role, as you would expect with a company operating a relatively flat structure, so we are looking for:

Experienced Transport Manager who is accustomed to managing a fleet with specialist and varied loads (i.e. more than pallets) where there are approximately 7-8 drops per day per vehicle.
Good understanding of O Licence requirements
You are likely to have had experience as a Driver, and may also hold CPC
