Job Summary: 

The Head of Fleet and Facilities plans, directs, and evaluates the daily operations and activities of the Fleet and Facilities department, which consists of existing office buildings and leased facilities, as well as the maintenance and procurement related to existing fleet. This position manages the equipment and property resources in a manner that provides safe, productive and cost-effective facilities and equipment for our employees. As part of the role, the job holder will support local as well as group-level management in UK&I projects related to Facilities and Fleet.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

Fleet Management (Responsible for all Vehicles, Maintenance and Regulatory Requirements) 

Maintain compliance with the Operators License ensuring all fleet complies with this regulation. (records, driver management, Tachograph adherence, maintenance,)
Manage the contacted supplier who maintain the fleet, ensuring weekly meetings are held to ensure accountability to the contract.
Manage regular meetings with the site Transport Managers to ensure adherence to the O License, and to manage any change requests. 
Responsible for all changes to the O License ensuring these are actioned in accordance with Traffic Commission requirements. 
Carry out regular audits across the UK & I ensuring fleet are being managed correctly to all regulatory requirements.
Prepare vehicle Capital requirements in conjunction with the Group Fleet Director,
Prepare fleet reports ensuring all General Managers are communicated to regarding performance.
Manage the fleet data base and update as required to vehicles enhancements and movements.
Responsible for all hired vehicles ensuring correct business case is followed for additional requirements.  

Facility Engineering/ Management (Act as the Lead expert responsible for all Engineering aspects across a broad range of Equipment, Processes and Buildings)

Preparation and execution of the capital business plans across all sites.
Continuously identify opportunities for improvement in services, products and systems to secure maximum efficiencies.
Developing & managing maintenance services budgets.
Liaise with contractors when required and establish service level contracts.
Ensures maintenance compliance to Statutory Health & Safety regulations.
Responsible for managing maintenance, project priorities and scheduling of workloads for subcontractors in con junction with local engineers.
Provide reports and recommendations on capital expenditure to replace or upgrade equipment.
Provide weekly reports on works carried out and performance of in-house and external contractors.
Establish and maintain a works order process for transparency of jobs and volumes to enable feedback to the management teams on progress of work.
Embracing and promoting continuous improvement and a desire for world class performance.
Management of the units permit procedures for staff & sub-contractors, including assessment of method statements and risk assessments where required. 
Observes the safety standards and procedures of the unit at all times and ensures that they are maintained in order to safeguard the safety of staff, visitors and installations. 
Co-ordination of agreed expenditure with the unit manager.  
Undertake special ad hoc projects as required.
Work with the security teams to ensure compliance to CAA regulations within building areas.  

Qualifications and Experience: 

Education: 

Ideally educated to degree level or equivalent experience within the Engineering sector.
Transport Manager CPC certificate would be an advantage 

Work Experience: 

Extensive experience of hard/soft Facilities Engineering Management, Preferably from Food/FMCG background 
Extensive experience Fleet and Transport Management (HGV)
Previous experience in managing Operators License 
Previous experience in Project Management 
Previous experience in Continuous Improvement (CI)
Comprehensive knowledge of driver hours, WTD regulations and related Transport Regulations.
Proven track record of delivering results withing tight deadlines / budgets 
Ability to work remotely and within a matrix organisational structure 

Skills & Knowledge:

Knowledge of Engineering (Electrical / Mechanical).
Full understanding of Plant room and Infrastructure.
Knowledge of Vehicle Engineering Functions.
Experience in managing and leading teams (direct and indirect reports).
Strong analytical skills and being able to extract key data from various sources.
Excellent organisational, time management and delegation skills.
Excellent IT Skills, Word, Excel, Outlook.
Full UK Driving License
Strong communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate at all levels of the business
