We are currently recruiting for a Depot Manager for our client’s Grays Depot, which operates a fleet of mobile cranes on a daily basis. The successful candidate will oversee all operational aspects of the depot, ensuring exceptional service delivery, safety compliance, and efficient fleet coordination.

Key Responsibilities:

* Lead and manage crane operators, slingers, supervisors, fitters, and support staff

* Plan workforce, fleet use, servicing, and maintenance

* Ensure staff training, compliance, and safety standards are met

* Oversee depot admin, documentation, and hire/return processes

* Monitor performance and produce regular KPI reports

* Liaise with customers and internal departments to ensure top-level service

* Manage staffing, recruitment, and absence

* Uphold high standards in depot cleanliness, health & safety, and vehicle upkeep

Ideal Candidate:

* Proven leadership in Hire, Transport, Construction, or Logistics

* Knowledge of crane or heavy plant operations (advantageous)

* Strong planning, communication, and people management skills

* IT literate with a focus on results and safety compliance

* Customer-focused with the ability to perform under pressure
