Avidity Group adds 60 Hyundai Kona EVs to its fleet
Sales and marketing services company, Avidity Group, has announced that it has taken delivery of 60 Hyundai Kona Electrics.
Operating across multiple sectors, Avidity Group has committed to establishing a fully electric fleet by 2030 as part of its sustainability strategy.
Elaine Angelidis, Avidity Group’s fleet manager, said: “Our commitment to achieving a 100% EV fleet by 2030 is central to our environmental strategy, and the Hyundai Kona Electric provides the perfect solution for our field teams.
“The vehicles' impressive range, reliability and efficiency mean our colleagues have no learning curve or complications with a switch to EV, plus this deployment enables us to support our clients' own green initiatives at the same time.”
The Hyundai Kona Electric offers zero emissions driving range of up to 319 miles as measured by the worldwide harmonized light vehicle test procedure (WLTP) and will be used by Avidity Group for a key client – enabling both brands to achieve their sustainability agendas.
Hyundai Motor UK’s head of fleet, Tim White, said: “This agreement with Avidity Group highlights Hyundai Motor UK's ongoing success in fleet supply arrangements, driven by the growing demand across the country for the company's low emissions vehicles.
“The Hyundai Kona Electric stands out as an ideal solution for businesses seeking reliable, efficient, and sustainable transportation for their field teams.”
DHL eCommerce UK replaces diesel vehicles with new Bio-LNG-powered trucks
DHL eCommerce UK has incorporated 30 new Volvo FM trucks into its fleet of liquefied natural gas (LNG)-powered vehicles.
The LNG-powered fleet, now doubled with the addition of the new vehicles, will be used to replace diesel vehicles on routes across the UK – operating across key sites in Coventry, Leicester, Birmingham and Milton Keynes.
Each truck has a range of up to 400 miles and emits up to 80% less greenhouse gas emissions (GHG) compared to a traditional diesel truck when fuelled with Bio-LNG. With the addition of the 30 new trucks, the fleet is expected to significantly reduce annual GHG emissions.
Additionally, the company has announced it will be investing into the development of additional refuelling infrastructure, such as a secondary Bio-LNG tank at its new Coventry hub.
DHL eCommerce UK’s CEO, Stuart Hill, said: “We’re delighted to expand our fleet with lower GHG emission vehicles and take diesel trucks off the roads. As a business, we are committed to being at the forefront of sustainable logistics so we will continue to make the necessary investments to reduce our GHG emissions footprint as we work towards our sustainability targets.”
Tremco CPG UK takes delivery of five 18-tonne rigid trucks from Fraikin
Tremco CPG UK will be expanding its operations with five new 18-tonne rigid trucks from Fraikin.
The construction supplier will use three of the new vehicles to replace three older models at its Crayford depot, with the others leading a new in-house operation at Leicester – taking over deliveries from previous external providers.
The new vehicles will enable Tremco CPG to transition away from using freight forwarders and are each expected to be on the road five days each week, covering up to 45,000 miles per year.
Tremco CPG UK’s logistics director, Martin Haggart, said: “Using freight forwarders worked for a time, but as our volumes have grown and our network has expanded it became increasingly costly, so we needed to change tack.
“Fraikin has helped us tailor the fleet to meet our specific requirements. Now we’re able to offer more efficient deliveries, providing customers with improved visibility and accountability. The move could save us in the region of £150,000 a year.”
As part of its provision, Fraikin collaborated with Tremco CPG UK and its chosen body builder to ensure ADR compliance, and delivered the vehicles with specific features to ensure effective of hazardous materials – including waterproofing, fire protection and resin flooring.
This delivery was made as part of a five-year, full-service contract hire agreement between Tremco CPG UK and Fraikin and represents the latest step of a 13-year relationship between the two companies.
Mark Bunker, business development manager at Fraikin, said: “Our work with Tremco highlights how contract hire can help to reshape a company’s distribution model. For Martin and his team, it was about gaining control, cutting costs, and building a scalable fleet. We’re proud to have supported their shift from third-party freight to a more agile solution.”

Cemplas Waterproofing and Concrete Repairs chooses FleetCheck system
Surrey-based Cemplas Waterproofing and Concrete Repairs has incorporated a FleetCheck system to manage its fleet.
The use of FleetCheck software marks a significant change for the business, which previously utilised physical spreadsheets to manage its 34 vehicles (cars and vans) and its grey fleet. The move to a digital tool was done to ensure compliance and easy availability of all fleet information, as well as to speed up manual processes.
Office manager at Cemplas Waterproofing and Concrete Repairs, Jo Burton, said: “Under our old system, I’d have to physically search through spreadsheets stored in various locations and finding the right information was both difficult and time-consuming.
“Now, everything we need is in one place and it’s so much easier, whether booking service and maintenance, processing fuel invoices, or ensuring relevant safety checks are carried out.”
“It’s not just a question of our fleet management now being faster and more accurate, or the time saved from using the FleetCheck technology, but the high level of stress surrounding vehicle operations has disappeared. We’re much more confident in our fleet processes.”
The company has also integrated FleetCheck licence checking software for 75 of its drivers, making use of automated checks, alerts and a reporting dashboard to optimise drive communication and ensure compliance.
FleetCheck CEO, Peter Golding (pictured), said: “We’re very pleased to see Cemplas Waterproofing and Concrete Repairs benefitting so strongly from the adoption of our systems.
“Especially for smaller fleets, the move away from spreadsheet-based processes to specialist fleet software can be little short of revelatory.”
