Cathedral Appointments are currently recruiting an experienced Procurement and Logistics Manager for a telecommunications company based near Exeter. Your role will be to negotiate supplier contracts, ensure that materials and equipment comply with technical standards and specifications, and oversee buying activity to ensure that purchases are aligned with forecasts and vendor SLAs. To be successful in this position you will need to have relevant experience in the telecoms sector, and have extensive experience of commercial and contractual negotiation of supply chain contracts.
Responsibilities:
* Negotiate Construction Supplier Contracts
* Ensure that materials and equipment comply to industry and 3rd party operator standards and technical specifications
* Oversee buying activity to ensure purchasing volumes are aligned with forecasts, lead times and vendor SLAs
* Vendor management of the existing supplier base
* Build relationships with new suppliers
* Supply chain management to optimise stock costs
* Work with the wider business to identify opportunities for savings / consolidation
* Track and report key functional metrics to reduce expenses and improve effectiveness
* Work with the wider organisation to ensure purchasing strategy is aligned
Requirements:
* Degree level education
* Minimum 5 years of relevant experience
* Professional qualification (MCIPS or equivalent) is desirable
* Extensive experience of commercial and contractual negotiation of supply chain contracts
* Understanding of MS Dynamics Inventory & Warehouse modules would be advantageous
* Strong strategical skills, business orientated mindset and driven personality
* Excellent communication skills and ability to work with others to achieve outstanding results
* Experience in a hands-on environment
