Our client is a market leading manufacturing company. Due to sustained growth, they are now looking to recruit a Logistics Manager.
The Role
* You will be responsible for logistics related customer interface, internal storage, material flow, conveyance, despatch, logistics related customer and business systems.
* This role is focused on the logistics teams.
* The function is responsible for goods/materials received, line feeding/delivery to production and dispatch of parts, inventory control, stock counting. You will be responsible for providing an interval service to production.
* Will ensure adherence to customer related systems and audits, apply updates to relevant areas of change and development.
* You will ensure business and customer systems compliance and maintenance relevant to area of control.
* Ensure delivery standards/expectations are understood for each customer (internal and external) and effectively communicated throughout the company.
* Proactively ensure all activities follow company HSE standards at all times.
* Ensure an efficient and high standard of customer service through, storage, order picking/packing, maintenance and security of storage, conveyancing and related equipment.
* Proactively lead the development of efficient HSE systems within your area.
* You will work with Engineering to support productivity improvements and management activities.
* Support introduction of enhanced material movement strategies.
* Manage Team performance via regular performance reviews, coaching, disciplinary and grievance, support develop training plans and ensure they are resourced.
* Maintain a framework of improvement activity to support the implementation of cost reduction ideas and elimination of non-value added production activities.
The Person
* You must have previous experience in a similar role.
* You must be flexible and willing take on any task.
* Experience within a Logistics Supervisory environment, encompassing customer/supplier/internal communications relevant to material handling, material supply and delivery.
* Business and customer systems experience.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, knowledge of MRP systems.
* Strong IT systems knowledge and skills including knowledge and understanding of specialist systems- business/customer, etc.
* Ability to analyse and manipulate technical and complex data and provide meaningful information.
