We are looking for an experienced Logistics Manager to join our client’s team in Basingstoke.
Our client designs, manufactures, installs and maintains a range of high-tech bespoke industrial equipment, largely made up of a range satellite communication ground stations.
As Logistics Manager, you will be the main logistical point of contact for our client’s largest customer, helping the business operations to deliver on time and quality products.
Your responsibilities will include:
Generating necessary regulatory documentation required for shipments
Performing, co-ordinating, monitoring and tracking shipments to the point of final delivery
Packing, loading and shipment of international consignments
Performing urgent shipments, for example in support of critical maintenance activities
Using knowledge of international shipping terms and regulations to ensure correct level of service is provided
Monitoring and tracking shipments to the point of delivery and providing periodic and on-request updates to the customer
Resolving delays and issues encountered during the shipping process in a timely fashion
Introducing, improving and maintaining processes related to packing, dispatch and shipping
Ensuring the on-time delivery (in good condition) of the correct product to all customers
Receipt, storage and dispatch of all materials purchased / requisitioned for stock and to customer requirements
Scheduling customer deliveries to achieve a 24/48-hour delivery services by the most cost-effective method
Ensuring efficient use of warehouse space to keep stock at optimum levels
Ensuring health and safety standards are adhered to at all times
The ideal Logistics Manager will have or be:
Proven work experience in a manufacturing environment working with high value products
Knowledge of international shipping regulations
Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage, influence and negotiate with key internal and external stakeholders
Results orientated with ability to problem solves and still deliver excellent client experience
Self-motivated, conscientious, organised and able to work well under pressure
Computer skills - must be proficient in Excel, Word, Outlook
Forklift truck licence is advantageous
For the role of Logistics Manager there is a salary on offer of £30,000 to £40,000 depending upon experience.
