We are looking to identify and experienced Logistics Manager on behalf of a manufacturing company in the South Yorkshire area. If you are interested in working for a secure and stable business with ambitious growth plans then this may be the role for you.
THE ROLE:
You will be responsible for overseeing the development of a relatively new logistics function with a strong emphasis on process development.
Key duties include but are not limited to:
Taking ownership of incoming goods, ensuring they are match fit for distribution throughout the manufacturing facility.
Ensuring materials are received and transported to line in a ready state, removing any double handling during the process.
Create and execute material movement processes.
Take responsibility for all dispatch and onsite logistics operations, ensuring processes and procedures are fit for purpose.
Standardise product dispatch, with a key emphasis on brand image and customer experience.
Manage and coordinate the delivery of incoming goods from domestic and international locations.
Manage 3rd party fleet partners.
Help shape & design the future state of the logistics function for a growing manufacturing company.
Take ownership for the growth of the logistics function, ensuring that the department grows to match the needs of a growing business.
Provide guidance to a logistics coordinator who will fall under your leadership.
Take responsibility for shipping, handling and customs & excise.
Work closely with other stakeholders in procurement, finance and production.
THE PERSON:
Based out of the South Yorkshire facility, the ideal Logistics Manager will have the following skills and experience:
Proven track record of leading a logistics function within a fast paced mechanical or electro-mechanical manufacturing environment is essential.
Industries of interest include (but are not limited to) automotive, aerospace, special purpose machinery, fabrication, precision engineering or a similar
Candidates from a food / perishable product background at this stage are not under consideration.
Experience of creating logistics strategies, policies, processes and procedures is essential.
A track record of growing logistics functions in order to meet customer demand is required.
Hands on leadership style, not afraid to roll up your sleeves mentality.
Expert across areas such as shipping, handling, customs & excise and dispatch
