Logistics Manager
Location: London
Responsibilities
Ensure that the logistics processes are managed in line with the agreed structure
Develop & implement stock accuracy measure through improved process
Liaise closely with project teams to facilitate stock requirements
Provide monthly reporting statistics on departmental performance
Implement agreed business models for all Hire & Plant materials
Follow the good examples set by the Project Manager in creating a robust H&S culture within the project
Ensure that directed staff are capable and competent to undertake the tasks allocated to them
Communicate and encourage feedback on H &S and environmental issues
Undertake appropriate disciplinary action for any breach of H&S
Investigate accidents or incidents to determine basic causes, feedback information both up and down the organisation
Ensure adequate H&S equipment is to hand and is used by employees
Undertake H&S tours or inspections; take action where deficiencies are observed
When unable to rectify or remedy unsafe situations either stop work if the risk is too high and/or report the deficiency (and involve HSQE) to the Project Manager for action
Promote and use the business procedures to control and manage work
Understand the H & S and environment risks involved in any activity they control and ensure any mitigation designated to control that risk are effectively operated/implemented
Become involved in any worksafe problem and help resolve that problem
Maintain their competence to manage their own H&S and environmental responsibilities and contribute to their directs competence to manage their H&S and environmental responsibilitiesQualifications
PTS is a must
SWL advantage but not needed
Strong logistical background in rail
Experience in managing a stores environment ideally with experience of the rail industry (essential)
Experience in working in the rail
Excellent communication skills
Experienced in managing small teams
Work well on own initiative and as part of a team, and under cost or time critical conditions
Strong stakeholder management skills are essential
