LOGISTICS MANAGER - Braintree

£35-40K - Permanent

Job Purpose

Plan and manage logistics, warehouse and transportation activities, customer demands are met
Liaise with freight agents given correct clearance instructions
Classification of import commodity codes and customs procedure codes from tariff
Keeping and maintaining clear and accurate audit trails of documentation for HM Customs records and inspection
Complying with all relevant laws and regulations in relation to dangerous/hazardous goods
Supporting the team with:Loading/unloading of goods from vehicles, the inspection of incoming goods, receiving onto internal company system, and outgoing inspection and packing of goods preparing for shipping
Incoming inspection of all products, issuing of parts to the workshop
Implementing weekly/monthly cycle counts and overseeing general stock management and control of shelf life items
Keep track of quality, quantity, stock levels, delivery times, transport costs and efficiency
Resolve any problems or complaints
Manage, coach and train the logistics team
Maintain KPIs
Continuously look for improvements to operations
Work proactively with all departments across the business and manage expectations appropriately
Coordinate and track movement of goods through logistic pathwaysADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Freight invoicing from accounts
Creation of new part numbers on the internal system (M3)DESIRABLE EDUCATION/QUALIFICATIONS

IATA Air Freight Certified
ADR Road Freight Certified
IMDG Maritime
Counterbalanced Forklift Trained
Dangerous or Hazardous GoodsESSENTIAL PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE

Experience working in logistics is essential
Experience in aviation/air freight/aerosystemsDESIRABLE PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE

Previous experience working with M3
Previous people management experienceESSENTIAL SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE

High level of knowledge and understanding of HM Customs & Excise Procedures
Knowledge of Dangerous Goods Shipments Domestic & Overseas
Strong time management, organisation and communication skills
Knowledge of logistics systems and understand of transportation limitations and regulationsESSENTIAL APTITUDES/ATTRIBUTES

Strong attention to detail
Ability to work to and meet deadlines
Ability to work well with others and independentlyOTHER JOB REQUIREMENTS

Willing to undertake further training to fulfil the requirements of the role (in and out of the UK)
Travelling overseas for meetings or training
