Logistics Manager - £35,000pa plus (depending on experience) - Slough
A highly organised and competent Logistics Manager with previous experience of working in the film/tv or events industry is required for a challenging and exciting role! Working for a fantastic, unique company based near to Slough, this is a full time, permanent position to start ASAP!
The company supplies greenery, props and other services for film, television and photo shoots. They have a large site, which includes 20 acres of nursery where all the potted greenery is stored ready to be transported out to clients. You will oversee the transport, loading and movement of plants, trees, landscaping materials and props to locations all over the UK. The role also involves managing a team of staff; booking crew both for work onsite and for jobs and the management of the fleet of machinery and vehicles. They have 14 lorries currently and they also employ yard staff and dressers for sets.
You need to have previous experience of logistics within the film, television or events industry, as you need to have an understanding of client requirements and working practices. This is a busy and exciting environment to work, where things can and do change at any given time, often at the very last minute! It requires a lateral thinker, someone who can work to tight deadlines, think on their feet and remain positive and calm under pressure! This role is not for the fainthearted, but it is hugely rewarding! You’ll be working with a great team of people who all work together to get the job done. Due to the ever changing needs of the business, the Logistics Manager will need to be a real team player and will be required to be on call for any urgent or last minute bookings or schedule changes. Having a can-do attitude is a must!
Offering a basic salary of circa £35,000 plus (depending on experience) the standard working hours for the role are Monday – Friday 7am to 16.30pm, although you will be required to work outside of these hours as and when required, so flexibility is key!
