Our client are currently recruiting for a Procurement & Inbound Logistics Manager at their facility based in Swansea, South Wales.

Their Refinery facility in South Wales is one of the largest in Europe and produces high-purity nickel and sub products for specialist areas such as car components, batteries, nickel plates and nonferrous alloys. In operation since 1902, the factory produces around 40,000 metric tons of nickel products per year and supplies around 280 clients in over 30 counties across the world (in Europe, Asia and the US).

An exciting opportunity has arisen at our Refinery in Clydach to work as the Procurement & Inbound Logistics Manager, leading the Clydach Procurement & Inbound Logistics teams, reporting into North Atlantic Head of Procurement.

To apply for the position, candidates would ideally possess an Undergraduate Degree relating to Business Administration, Supply Chain Management and Development, Commerce or Legal Programs. Candidates must hold a CIPS qualification.

We are recruiting on behalf of our client for someone who can ensure the purchase of goods and services for Vale Clydach. They must ensure that the department acquires quality products for a competitive price in a timely fashion.

It is vital that applicants have significant knowledge and experience of Supply Chain Management; contract negotiation, procurement principles and processes, contract law, commercial terms of goods services. In addition to this, it is preferred that candidates also have experience of working within an Inventory/Stores environment.

As a member of the Refinery Leadership Team, they are looking for a leader who can work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders, with strong managerial, coaching and mentoring skills. The role holder must be analytical, work collaboratively with cross functional teams and on their own initiative, using targets and measures to get work done. We require someone who can communicate verbally and non-verbally to a range of audiences with confidence.

The Manager is required to:

Lead the Procurement & Inbound Logistic teams in ensuring the supply of items for business continuity, at the lowest total cost of ownership possible, achieving industry best practice standards of delivery time and quality of products and services.

Assume responsibility for all related activities pertaining to the Inbound Logistics function, including but not limited to: inventory control and ensuring items are maintained appropriately, implement Global Safety standards and practices and supplied to plant in a timely fashion, thereby mitigating any risk of stoppage to business operations.

Influence and actively contribute to continuous improvement initiatives in relation to the efficiency of the business environment by managing performance monitoring and improvement strategies aligned to the supply chain whilst cultivating relationships with key stakeholders and supply chain partners.
