Production Planning & Logistics Manager

Prestigious, world leading global design, development and manufacturing business producing complex, precision engineered products at the forefront of technological innovation are seeking an experienced Production Planning & Logistics Manager to undertake a key role within the manufacturing operations and supply chain team.
In this key role as Production Planning & Logistics Manager you will have up to 8 direct reports across Production Planning, Stores and logistics and will drive the delivery of direct planning to production as well as providing strategic input into the stores and shipping / import / export functions.
Whilst the focus of the role will be production planning, (up to 70%) you will however also drive the strategy and directions for both the warehouse and logistics functions so experience of leading good in / out teams /through to shipping alongside your planning acumen highly sought.
With a new ERP system being implemented any previous experience of migrating between systems of implementing a new ERP /MRP system would be highly beneficial as would good MSExcel skills for analysis.
Key accountabilities and experience for Production Planning & Logistics Manager:
*Experience working within Planning, Configuration control and Logistics environments
*Minimum 3 years' experience managing teams within a Planning Department
*Working knowledge of Import/export processes, controls and regulations would be beneficial
*knowledge and experience of stock management processes including lot control and stock audit
*Clear, logical thinker with the ability to understand and solve problems.
*Understanding, simplifying and improving complex processes
*Ability to think and act as a 'service provider'
*Must have worked in an Engineering manufacturing environment ideally within Low value, high volume
*Strong and demonstrable experience of working with MRP/ERP systems for manufacturing
