Purchasing and Logistics Manager
Hove
Salary – negotiable depending on experience and suitability, c £50,000
A proactive, experienced and confident Purchasing and Logistics Manager is required for Hunters’ client, an extremely busy and very fast growing creative company enjoying sustained success. The Purchasing and Logistics Manager is a demanding position that requires good management skills, good technical & IT skills and a thorough knowledge of Import & Export. Reporting to the NPD Director, the Purchasing and Logistics Manager will play a key strategic role within the business. Relevant industries: manufacturing, fmcg, fashion, creative, jewellery, gadgets and Far East purchasing. The team roles and responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
Competencies Required
* Excellent people management skills ideally within a wholesale environment
* Demonstrate excellent Knowledge of Purchasing & QA processes
* Excellent IT skills, Navision, Office (Excel to high standard), Email and Internet
* Knowledge of Import/Export shipping and documentation and process
* Hands on and flexible attitude
* High attention to detail
* Health & Safety conscious
Key Responsibilities:
General management of the purchasing and logistics team, 14+ reports;
Produce and maintain reporting weekly, monthly and annually KPI’s for the departmental and supplier performance
Monitor and forecast upcoming levels of demand for services and products
Assess, manage and mitigate risks
Track and report key functional metrics to reduce expenses and improve effectiveness
Optimize stock levels, managing and reporting the stock rating
Work with NPD & QA to ascertain the best products and suppliers in terms of best value, delivery schedules and quality
Liaise between suppliers, manufacturers, relevant internal departments and customers;
Build and maintain good relationships with new and existing suppliers
Negotiate and agree contracts, monitoring the quality of service provided
Process and approve payments and invoices
Forecast price trends and their impact on future activities
Develop, lead and execute purchasing strategies
Produce reports and statistics using Jet reporting software
Ensure suppliers are aware of business objectives
Attend meetings and trade conferences where required
Qualifications and Experience
Significant experience in a Purchasing & QA environment
Expertise is Navision would be very welcome
