Senior Transport Manager / Head of Relocation
We are currently recruiting for a Senior Transport Manager for a Business Relocation firm based in the Cambridgeshire area. During these uncertain times, this business has gone from strength to strength and has opened a new site.
Ideally you will have worked within the following industries – Relocation & Removals, Furniture Installation, IT Installations or Retail / Commercial / Hospital / Laboratory fit outs. You will also need to have a Transport Managers CPC (Combined or International) as you will be the O’Licence holder.
The successful candidates will receive between £40,000 - £45,000 +Car Allowance +Bonus
Main Purpose –
To assist the Relocation Division in achieving budgeted targets in accordance with agreed standards of performance with a particular focus in the Life Science & Pharmaceutical sector.
Main Duties & Responsibilities –
Develop, implement and maintain a detailed business plan with an agreed timeframe with key business objectives in place
O’Licence Holder for a mixed fleet of Class 1 & Class 2 vehicles
Day to day management of the department, including compliance for the O’Licence
Provide and create framework that includes clear leadership & direction that keeps in line with business ethos & values. Maximising full potential of the business
Full control of P&L – Including stretch targets and company growth plan
Manages and assist the Sales Team
Carry out client de-briefs & compiling reports
Submit monthly & quarterly information required to produce management accounts and all financial reports
Monitor and stay on top of un-invoiced revenue / debt
Ensure all business quotations and proposals are accurately costed and priced
Managing and effective sales diary and territory planning takes place maximising personal effectiveness and minimising down time
Arrange and attend pre-move planning meetings with clients – Creating effective objectives
Maintain & Create links with commercial estate agents and surveyors, promoting our services
Check and authorise external supplier invoices
As a member of the management team, take collective responsibility with other managers for the overall performance of the division
Participate in regular review meetings with the Director – Taking responsibility or follow up actions
Experience & Skills Required –
Experience in the Pharmaceutical & Life Sciences sector
Ideally worked as an Operations Manager or above
Transport Management CPC (ESSENTIAL)
Previous experience of managing large teams including Customer Service, Admin & Warehousing staff
Previous experience of managing costs / P&L / budgets
