About Instil Bio
Instil Bio is a cell therapy company developing tumor infiltrating lymphocytes (TIL) for the treatment of solid tumor cancers. TIL are a patient’s own T cells harvested from the patient’s tumor, which are then expanded and reinfused into the patient to target and kill cancer cells. Senior/UK Logistics Manager
We are seeking a Senior/UK Logistics Manager to join the Supply Chain team in Manchester where you will be accountable for storage and movements of all materials, consumables and spare parts across the CTU and Impact facilities at Grafton Street. Inbound and outbound freight will also form part of the role accountabilities.
You will also lead activities to further develop material management practices including development of a Warehouse Management System and the creation of a 2D bar code-based process to receive, locate and issue all materials.
Additionally you will lead planning for materials storage and flow in likely future UK facility design and build projects.
Duties & Responsibilities
Set up and manage warehouse locations within the CTU and Impact facilities including designations and sizing of storage locations
Recruit, lead and manage a team of warehouse operators ensuring full coverage for all production, PD and facilities related requirements
Work with third party logistics providers to create and optimise inbound and outbound materials, equipment and spare parts deliveries
Establish effective inbound material flows including appropriate control of quarantine locations in conjunction with quality
Effective collaboration with production staff to ensure a smooth flow of materials from the warehouse to the production areas and product and waste from production away from the facility
Work with the Facilities and Engineering teams to ensure availability of all required spare parts (for both planned and unplanned maintenance activities)
Set up and manage a process to introduce new materials to the warehouse area.
Accountable for all outbound material flows from the warehouse including product transit and waste removal.
Lead development of improved materials management processes and systems including a Warehouse Management System and warehouse related activities in a future ERP system implementation (eg Net Suite)
Lead liaison activities with building owners to ensure appropriate warehouse facility support
Lead future facility design to ensure appropriate and scalable materials storage and flow
Accountable for all warehouse EH&S requirements including licences, audits, risk assessments and training of staff
Participation in any accident investigations at the time of event and follow up
To ensure warehouse staff training is clearly defined, documented and performed according to the Quality Management System Training policies
Experience, Skills & Abilities
To be successful in the role of Senior/Logistics Manager it is anticipated you will possess the following experience and skills:
Minimum of 5 years of experience working in a controlled warehouse environment
Experience working with 3PL logistics providers
Experience working with a Warehouse Management System
Experience training personnel in warehouse management practices
Experience with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems
All EH&S standards associated with running a warehouse
A team player who can be the centre of a team environment,
Motivation of colleagues to maintain high standards whilst maintain a strong team environment
Excellent interpersonal skills
Ability to work well with several teams simultaneously
Ability to work well under pressure in a complex environmentDesirable
The following experience is not essential but may be an advantage:
Previous industry work experience in pharmaceuticals or medical devices
Knowledge of Net Suite / Oracle

The salary for the Senior/UK Logistics Manager will be competitive within the Biotechnology and wider Scientific Sector. The actual salary offered will reflect relevant qualifications and experience as well as performance at interview. In any event we anticipate a basic salary in the £45,000 to £65,000 range together with attractive bonus and benefits.
