This role of Supply Chain & Logistics Manager is with a fast growing and diverse food manufacturer and distributor with a growing portfolio, who require a strong manager of relationships to work closely with the new 3PL who manage their logistics in the UK and the overseas partners who support with growth and manufacture of the products. The company is very profitable, stable and has a strong appetite for growth and expansion. It believes strongly in ownership management of its people and has a most positive culture.
As, Supply Chain & Logistics Manager you will be accountable for monthly reviews of all Logistic costs (flows into the UK and into customers) and developing continuous improvement programs to reduce all logistics costs. If these are not adhered with, with the partners, you must be able to manage and hold the accountable for all SLA failed costs.
On top of this, the Supply Chain & Logistics Manager will manage all Logistics and Packaging budgets, trying to reduce costs where possible whilst planning for the year ahead and thinking about new initiatives for 5 years in advance.
The client is working with the top 6 large UK food retailers, with a reputation for excellent customer service; therefore you will have a reputation for delivering very high levels of client satisfaction through well organised and carefully planned operations.
This will involve a lot client interaction and will be tasked with chairing regular meetings to ensure the Retailers are satisfied. This role carries full accountability for the business stream and would represent a good opportunity for someone looking to progess their career into executive management.
Ideally your background will be in 3PL management, supply chain souring oversea, packaging and driving continuous improvement in your roles - but more important are your core competencies in the areas of leadership and relationship management. Open book experience would also be advatnageous, but is not critical in your application.
