We are exclusively partnering with a growing, forward-thinking distribution business based in Hull, as they look to appoint a driven and experienced Transport & Logistics Manager. What the Transport and Logistics Manager job involves

Overseeing all transport and logistics operations to ensure cost-effective and timely delivery of goods

Working closely with customers, suppliers, and third-party logistics providers to deliver a seamless service

Monitoring compliance with UK transport legislation, health & safety regulations, and environmental standards

Keeping accurate and up-to-date records including delivery documents, fleet logs, and operational KPIs

Leading, developing, and supporting a small but dedicated transport and logistics team of 6.

Identifying areas for continuous improvement and cost reduction

Assisting with budget planning and managing logistics-related expenditure

Using logistics software and systems to manage the day-to-day operation effectively

Skills Required

To succeed in this role, you’ll need to bring a combination of operational know-how, team leadership, and a strategic mindset.

Proven experience in a similar Transport Manager or Logistics Manager role, ideally within an SME or distribution business

Strong knowledge of UK transport laws, fleet compliance and best practices

Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills

A proactive, hands-on approach with the ability to juggle priorities and meet deadlines

A CPC qualification

Experience with customs and international shipping

Knowledge of inventory or warehouse operations

An understanding of health & safety procedures within logistics
