Our client has a permanent vacancy for a Transport Manager. The hours are 9am till 6pm, Monday to Friday. As the lead for all site transport you will be responsible for:
•Efficiently coordinate and control all the outbound logistics to the site’s transport operation
•Complete processes such as KPI and administration of route planning and reporting, whilst building and maintaining strong, successful working relationships with the customer and sub-contractors
•Be line manager for Drivers
•Ensure Drivers dispatch on time and in accordance with Transport and Company legislation
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
•LGV licence is preferred but not essential
•Full clean driving licence
•Route Planning experience
•National CPC holder – for knowledge only, not operator’s licence
REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:
•Proven management skills are essential - minimum 2 years’ relevant experience
•Knowledge of transport legislation
•Knowledge of GDPR legislation
•Experience of Route Optimisation software
•Strong national geographical knowledge
•Effective communication skills
•Excel-intermediate level preferred
•Ability to work on own initiative as well as part of a team
•Knowledge of Health & Safety legislation
•Strong decision making skills
•Ability to work under pressure
•Time Management and organisational skills
•Assertiveness
