Transport Manager
Transport Manager - with responsibility for plant
This Transport Manager role will be ideal for someone who is based within the Bedfordshire/Hertfordshire area as you will covering other depots within the South East. This is the perfect time to join this progressive company and become a key member of the team!
The Company:
Working for a leading hire company who supply specialist plant hire equipment to the construction and civil sectors.
The Role:
Ensure all transport movements of heavy plant are undertaken within the region and nationally are executed in an efficient manner.
Most of your working week will involve covering the other depots within the business.
You will be working within compliance, health & safety is foremost ensuring all of the drivers are working within company and legal guidelines.
Providing CPC training.
You will review performance and carry out KPI's and driver audits using telematics data, preventing accidents & investigating infringements, advisories & training gaps.
Liaising with yard, workshop, operator and fleet management departments to ensure all the depot targets are achieved regarding transport.
The purchase and sales of company vehicles.
Candidate:
As the Transport Manager you will be a well organised individual working closely alongside your team members and Director
Knowledge of plant hire, operated plant & the transport industry and legislation is preferred for this role
You will ideally hold a National CPC.
You may have been a plant manager, regional transport controller, transport coordinator, transport administrator, transport manager
Manage the Co-ordination of transport, staff & drivers locally and nationally.
Managing and training your team of drivers - recruiting additional staff as the need arises.
Previous experience of co-ordinating haulage and transport legislation is essential.
