Our client a leading kitchen equipment distributor based in Milton Keynes is looking for a self-sufficient, enthusiastic, and inspiring leader to head their successful transport team. Reporting to the Head of Logistics you will provide effective leadership, motivation, training and development for the team.

You must:
* Have a proven track record in transport management
* Be able to work under pressure and to tight deadlines
* Be able to act decisively on your own initiative

* Be people focused, able to lead and motivate others
* Be open minded able to embrace and influence change
* Have excellent oral and written communication skills
* Have planning and organising skills
* Have or plan to obtain a Transport Managers CPC
Your responsibilities:
* Lead, motivate and challenge your team to deliver consistently high results and productivity
* Plan the training of staff and monitor their performance and progress
* Coach, mentor and appraise your team
* Ensure all transport KPI targets are consistently achieved
* Achieve and maintain compliance standards ensuring completion of relevant audits and inspections
* Use driver and fleet resources efficiently to reduce cost
* Ensure workplace health and safety requirements are met
* Work in collaboration with peers and superiors to innovate, maximize efficiencies and best practice
