TRANSPORT MANAGER
URGENT REQUIREMENT IMMEDIATE START
As the Transport Manager you will be responsible for the distribution operation ensuring that vehicles and drivers are dispatched on time and accurate to order.
This is a high volume site with a really busy transport department delivering hundreds of orders per day. Ideally used to using Paragon or similar transport systems. This role has a union however not a strong active one but experience with unions would be preferable.
In this role you will have operational responsibility for all elements of the transport function, including undertaking transport projects, drivers hours and compliance. You will also be responsible for leading and developing the drivers and the wider transport team including planning and administration functions.
Reporting into the General Manager, the Transport Manager will be responsible for health and safety P&L As the nominated O Licence holder, they will be required to manage the maintenance and compliance of the vehicles. This role will require a strategic individual who can analyse the existing operation and help it move forward, ultimately growing the operation for the future.
As well as Transport operational duties, the Transport Manager will be responsible for an excellent level of customer service maintained through thorough communication with high profile customers.
Profile
The successful Transport Manager candidate will possess the following attributes:
Experience of managing a fleet of vehicles and drivers
Knowledge of CI within a Transport environment and experience in change management
Excellent track record of customer service
Excellent organisational and communication skills
Possess a National CPC
