Job Title: Transport Manager
Overall Purpose:
➢ Manage the Transport operations to ensure we comply with the Restricted Operators License Undertakings, Maintain the status of FORS Silver accreditation, whilst managing 3rd party transport and the warehouse operations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Whilst not exhaustive, the key responsibilities of this role will include:
➢ Ensure the rules on drivers’ hours and tachographs are observed and proper records kept
➢ Ensure vehicles are not overloaded
➢ Ensure vehicles will operate within speed limits
➢ Ensure vehicles including hired vehicles, are kept fit and serviceable
➢ Ensure drivers report promptly any defects or symptoms of defects that could prevent the safe operation of the vehicles, and that any defects are promptly recorded in writing and acted upon.
➢ Ensure records are kept (for 15 months) of all driver defect reports, all safety inspections, routine maintenance and repairs to vehicles and these are made available on request.
➢ Ensure we maintain the FORS Silver accreditation
➢ Ensuring high level of customer service to all sectors of the business
➢ Contribute toward ongoing cost control, actively seeking to improve efficiency, reduce operating costs, increasing margin and meeting budget targets set
➢ Develop the integrated transport solutions (Maxoptra & Teletrac Navman) to deliver a premium & cost-effective service
➢ Lead and manage recruitment, retention and development of the Transport team
➢ Establishing a positive safety and working culture, delivering high levels of driver / Warehouse operative engagement through 5S and other Continuous Improvement initiatives.
➢ Assist in the effectively management of the warehouse, ensuring stock integrity and product availability through efficient process management.
➢ Deal effectively with underperformance, implementing disciplinary procedures as appropriate
➢ Ensure the Transport and Warehouse Teams work collaboratively with each other and internal departments and service providers.
➢ Ensure that all aspects of Health & Safety are adhered to, including H&S induction and training, operating procedures, near miss reporting and emergency procedures.
➢ Ensure all invoices are checked and approved
➢ Take overall responsibility for the management of the site.

Key Skills
➢ Strong ERP knowledge (SAP, Navision)
➢ Commercial awareness
➢ Experience in leading transport / haulage operations in and around London
➢ Transport legislation, e.g. Drivers' Hours etc.
➢ Service or logistics industry experience
➢ Demonstrable experience of successful resource management / cost control
➢ Proven track record of working to clearly defined service delivery KPI's
➢ Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC)
➢ Licence to drive in the UK
➢ HGV License (Desirable)
