As the Warehouse and Logistics Manager, you will be responsible for the Warehousing & despatch/Logistics operations consistently delivering both short and long term targets safely, on time and within budget to ensure excellent customer service. You will oversee the smooth running of the storage procedure, from the complicated storage logistics, to keeping an eye on the warehouse workers - scheduling shifts and ensuring staff are adequately trained.
Key Responsibilities for the Warehouse and Logistics Manager:
Responsible for the despatch of site produced orders to meet customer requirements
Control and despatch of any cross docked group orders in requested timescales
Manage department costs to budget
Responsible for ensuring health and safety compliance
Regular documented audits of routing to continuously improve both service and cost efficiency.
Regular Driver downloads to record driver performance
Proactive approach to managing a large team in terms of recruitment, communication, training, performance management etc
Analysing KPIs to identify opportunities to continually improve performance
Liaising with any Agency/Third party suppliers to ensure full understanding of site and duty roles, including inductions.
Developing effective internal and external relationships
Good management techniques in warehousing
Experienced people management skills in Warehousing and Logistics to maximise performance
The Warehouse and Logistics Manager will have the following skills and experience:
Previous logistics management experience in a busy and demanding environment preferably from an FMCG business
Strong people management experience
Able to plan and execute and deliver targets with a continual emphasis on improving performance
Ideally holds a IOSHH qualification or has significant experience of driving improvement in health and safety within a logistics environment
Excellent understanding of legal compliance required in a logistics environment
Effective problem solving, analytical and organisation skills
Ability to communicate at all levels of the organisation and with both internal and external customers
Proven track record of effective decision making
A 'can do', proactive approach, with the ability to motivate others
IT literateThe hours of work will be Monday to Friday 8am - 4.30pm
