To manage all Warehouse and Distribution activities on site (including off-site storage), ensuring that the designated area of work is fully operational, providing an effective and efficient service to the plant and its customers/suppliers. What you will be doing:
Responsible for the Health, safety and welfare of all Warehouse and Logistics employees, take action and report issues and improve constantly; ensuring adoption of safe working/operating procedures within the Warehouse and Logistics operation
To review and assess current Warehouse and Logistics practices and procedures, implementing continual improvement initiatives, ensuring that service levels afforded to our internal and external customers are maintained at a high level
Ensure all audits/reports are completed and relevant
Monitoring and ensuring performance metrics are achieved/maintained
Prioritise issues, promotion and implementation of continuous improvement and ensuring that continuous improvement initiatives are adopted/sustained
General staff management: performance, attendance, allocation of resources
Implement job rotation, plan and implement training to achieve desired versatility
Confirm Team Members and Team Leaders standardised work and feedback improvement opportunities, ensure learning is shared
Assist the Operations Management (Production/Engineering) and SHE Specialist with site upkeep and improvement initiatives
Liaise with engineering to ensure safe and smooth running of plant and machinery
Through the Team Leader ensure accurate stock control within the Warehouse (including external storage) including daily inventory from Production
Booking of transport when required, obtaining appropriate quotes/costing’s
Liaise with the Sales team regarding all customer orders, stock levels and despatch
Plan and organise container requirements onsite
Organise movement to and from external storage units, including overseeing of-site storage ensuring that customer needs are metAbout you:
Previous experience in a supervisory/managerial role within a warehouse/distribution  environment ideally having previously managed through Team Leaders
Previous exposure to a continuous improvement culture
Proven track record of mentoring staff, new employees
Evidence of basic management qualifications or equivalent training in people management
Numerate with good communication skills
Must be computer literate and have good knowledge of Microsoft programs
Knowledge of AX365
