A well-established company who employs over 300 employees across their 6 sites in the North of Scotland are hiring for a qualified Warehouse Manager for their Inverness Deport, responsible for running a high-functioning warehouse.

As Warehouse & Logistics Manager you will supervise all activities of that facility, which often involves overseeing team performance, expediting the receiving and shipping of goods, and ensuring efficient, organised storage. By streamlining all warehouse activities, this detail-oriented leader will help drive overall profitability and customer satisfaction.

What you’ll do

Ensure the warehouse operates at peak efficiency, with customer satisfaction being the primary goal, by supervising, organising, directing, and training warehouse employees and establishing, monitoring, and managing operation goals

Develop warehouse operations systems by determining product handling and storage requirements, equipment utilization, inventory management, gate processes, and shipping

Train and manage a warehouse team to solve day-to-day operational issues and reach short- and long-term performance goals

Oversee daily operations, while controlling and managing inventory and logistics

Review and prepare workflow, manning and space requirements, equipment layout, and action plans while ensuring productivity, quality and customer service standards are met

Maintain a safe and healthy work environment by establishing, following, and enforcing standards and procedures and complying with legal regulations

To be successful in the role you will have..

At least 2 years direct warehousing experience with industrial equipment and materials AND/OR has had at least 2 years’ goods, logistics or distributive experience and holding a current full UK driving licence.

Excellent People Management skills to motivate and get staff working to the best of their abilities

Excellent customer Service skills

Basic knowledge of relevant systems, equipment and processes.

Strong data accuracy.

The ability to work with minimal supervision and make decisions relevant

Ability to respond positively to new challenges and change and provide solutions-based approach.

Working environment

Successful applicant will be based in our modern, spacious offices in Inverness, central to the town centre and may from time-to-time travel across our other 6 locations from Highlands, Islands and Aberdeen areas to meet our staff in these locations.

Hours are 40 hrs per week, Monday to Friday, and Saturday rota, working 1 in 3.
