THE recovery in the UK van market is continuing with sales of both small and medium vans up in the first nine months of the year on the same period last year.

In the small van sector - up to 1800kg - sales in the first nine months of the year total 56,164 (53,892) with September sales of 5,874 (5,250). In the 1801-3500kg sector sales in the first nine months of the year stand at 90,226 (87,926) with September sales of 10,943 (8,832). While Ford continues its domination of the sectors its 1996 sales are down on 1995 at 23,181 (24,341) in the light van sector and 38,759 (41,342) in the medium van sector.
