MORE than 100,000 vehicles are now managed by Fleet Cost Management with the company claiming number two spot in the UK fleet management sector behind PHH Vehicle Management Services.

FCM was established in 1990 and managing director Jeremy Snowden said: 'Passing the six-figure mark is an important milestone in FCM's short history. It is a clear signal to the market, showing how we have grown steadily but rapidly over the last six years.' He added: 'While passing the 100,000 mark is noteworthy, it is not our aim to be the biggest player in fleet management. Our aim is to be the best and growth is an inevitable effect of achieving that.'

In recent months FCM has won major fleet business from NatWest Bank, British Gas Service, Thomas Cook and Rexam. PHH passed the 200,000 barrier for vehicles under maintenance management earlier this year (Fleet News July 26).
