Power deal for FCS DRIVE

FLEET software specialist FCS Computer Services has won the contract to supply its DRIVE software to the Eastern Group, one of the UK's leading gas and electricity companies.

Eastern runs a 10,000 strong vehicle fleet, and will use DRIVE to replace its mainframe fleet computer system which had remained unchanged since 1977. Eastern currently uses an Oracle centralised accounting system, so DRIVE fits in well with the group's IT strategy.

It will use DRIVE to manage transport maintenance across 15 workshops, to provide on-line viewing of fleet details, to manage the leasing of vehicles to subsidiaries, and to control vehicle acquisitions, disposals and allocations. The software will also capture fuel data centrally for Eastern's internal and external fuel providers.
