Alamo offers TV service

ALAMO Rent A Car has teamed up with the teletext used car selling system Car Shop to offer an on-screen car hire facility. By using Car Shop's interactive text pages on Sky Television, viewers can arrange a hire car from their home, office or hotel room.

Cars can be booked from any of Alamo's 209 locations in the UK or US with each request confirmed within 24 hours.

Alamo president and managing director Frank Armstrong said: 'Our Car Shop service will enable Sky TV users to examine the cars available in each country and the costs, and then specify where and when they want to collect and return their hire car. We have chosen to be involved with interactive television as another in a succession of innovations Alamo has bought to the car hire industry - all aimed at providing higher levels of service and making car rental hassle-free for both business and leisure customers.'
