KEN Footitt, company car driver of the year in the annual Britain's Safest Fleet competition sponsored by Vauxhall and organised by Fleet News, has taken delivery of his prize - a brand new Vauxhall Vectra Estate for six months.

The winners of the competition were announced at the British International Motor Show at Birmingham in October and Footitt was the only driver to correctly answer all 35 questions in a highway code test and was then almost faultless in a 70-minute driving exercise conducted under the expert eyes of BSM Qualified Driver Training instructors.

N.E.W.S. Transport was runner-up in the small fleet category of Britain's Safest Fleet this year having won it in 1995 and has one of the safest fleets on Britain's roads.
