FLEET managers have been urged to drive a harder bargain with the manufacturers to ensure they get the most out of free servicing and extended warranty offers.

The advice comes from the Fleet Support Group, which believes both private and corporate customers are being duped into paying out thousands of pounds for work which should be undertaken under warranty. FSG operations manager Richard Minshull advised all car-buyers to read the small print carefully and ensure they understand all the conditions attached to such offers before ordering a car.
