THE Transport Research Laboratory is shortly to publish a report on the effectiveness of driver training and other fleet management safety policies.

The organisation has been talking to a wide range of fleets and driver training organisations to find out the action they have taken to reduce the accident involvement of their drivers of fleet cars and small vans.

The project questions the decision-making process undertaken by fleets, looks at the range of training and other measures available and the effectiveness of those policies on drivers.

The role of insurance companies in influencing fleets in the use of training, risk management and other measures has also been examined by the Laboratory.
