SANDERSON FCS has won more than £250,000 of new orders for its fleet management software in the first two months since it was acquired by the Birmingham-based Sanderson Electronics group.

The new contracts include Securicor Vehicle Services, GB Express, Harcross Building & Timber Supplies, Durham County Council, the Corporation of Douglas on the Isle of Man and three new unitary local authorities in Avon. Sanderson acquired Fletcher Computer Services earlier this year and renamed the company Sanderson FCS.

Harcross Building & Timber Supplies is establishing a central transport management centre in Winchester. It will use Sanderson's Fleetplan software to manage its fleet of more than 1,000 commercial vehicles, 1,000 cars and 600 items of plant. The new database will record maintenance and repair jobs so Harcross can monitor what it should be paying for similar types of work.

Avon County Council, which is already a Sanderson FCS customer, is being split into three new unitary authorities and they will each use Fleetplan software on a new distributed system of IBM RS6000s which replace the previous central MDIS system.
