NISSAN has announced styling changes and a new grade line-up for the Serena MPV and improvements to the van version, the Vanette Cargo. The Serena LX is replaced by the GX and the SLX 2.0 litre petrol model is replaced by the Excursion. The 2.3 diesel SLX completes the range while exterior changes include the new 'flying wing' grille and a new front bumper.

Seatbelts now have pretensioners with Nissan's automatic/emergency locking retractor belts fitted to the second row of seats. Seating capacity on the SLX goes up from seven to eight. Prices start at £14,922 for the GX to £17,010 for the Excursion, with an average increase of 2.6% across the range. The Cargo gets the new grille and bumper while payload goes up from 980 kg to 1060 kg and rear axle weight has been increased by 140 kg. Prices for the new model start at £10,315 (excluding VAT) for the 2.3 litre diesel panel van - an average increase of 4.3% across the range.

Meanwhile, the Almera now features a NATS II immobiliser on the 2.0 diesel GX model and a body coloured spoiler on the Si grade; while prices for the Patrol GR range increase by an average of 2% across the range which now starts at £20,960 for the 2.8 turbodiesel three door SLX.
