System aids luxury fleet

BRITAIN'S largest chauffeur company Miles and Miles has ordered Fleetway Systems' CONNECT booking system to help manage its 60-vehicle luxury car fleet. The system provides complete automation from booking through to invoicing and management reporting to the company, which handles all Avis's chauffeur requirements in the UK.

Data is interchanged between the Heathrow and Kensington sites using ISDN to provide a seamless, real time data network with PC terminals displaying up-to-date information on job bookings and status. The company's future plans include extending the system to clients with implants - enabling them to book cars direct from their own PCs - and installing links to airline systems.
