NISSAN has announced a series of changes and a price rise on its four-strong Serena MPV range. The model line-up has been changed to be consistent with other Nissan models and sees 1.6 litre petrol and 2.3 litre diesel GX models replace LX versions and the range-topping 2.0 litre Excursion replace the SLX. The 2.3 litre diesel SLX grade remains unchanged.

The five-door seven or eight seater models see a driver's airbag with seatbelt pretensioners as standard on the top two models and optional on the GX models with Nissan's automatic/emergency locking retractor seatbelts, which allow a child seat to be locked in place standard, on the second row of seats in all models. Exterior styling changes see the addition of the Nissan 'flying wing' front grille, a new bumper design and new body colours and there are minor interior changes.

New prices including £465 delivery charge with old prices in brackets are: 1.6 GX and 2.3D GX £14,922 (£14,460), 2.3D SLX £16,362 (£15,960), 2.0 Excursion £17,010 (£16,705).
